Dipped or main beam out
Identify the fitted halogen, xenon or LED system, then check the bulb or light source, its supply and relevant electronics.
Dipped beam out, a DRL warning or a rear light that will not work? Our independent Volkswagen workshop in Al Quoz 4 diagnoses exterior lighting and explains whether you need a bulb, electrical repair, restoration or a matched replacement lamp.

A replacement bulb and a sealed LED assembly are very different purchases. These planning ranges separate the main jobs so a low bulb price is not mistaken for a complete headlight replacement.
These are selected-application planning ranges, not a fixed price for every VW or a quoted pair of lamps. The side, part number and whether electronics are supplied with the unit change the total.
Your quote identifies the affected lamp or side, parts, fitting, diagnosis, required coding or aiming, testing and VAT treatment. Related bodywork, wiring or additional lamps are listed separately.
Ranges describe alternative jobs, not automatic cumulative charges. Tail-lamp assemblies and specialist matrix-light units are quoted by VIN and fault.
Know the total before approving. Send the model, year, VIN, affected side and a safe photo. We explain the findings and give a fixed written quote before work; additional repairs need your approval.
Dipped beam means low beam. A “left dipped beam failure” or “right dipped beam failure” warning identifies the affected function and side, not the failed component. Tell us whether the main beam, DRL and opposite low beam still work.
Identify the fitted halogen, xenon or LED system, then check the bulb or light source, its supply and relevant electronics.
A poor connection, supply problem, ageing bulb, ballast or LED driver can produce similar symptoms. Testing separates them.
Lens haze, ageing bulbs, an incorrect lamp specification or aim can reduce useful road illumination. Brighter bulbs alone may not solve it.
If you cannot see adequately or your lights dazzle others, avoid driving in those conditions until the fault is assessed. Do not use main beam as a substitute for failed dipped beam. Follow any dashboard instruction.
A bulb warning can come from the lamp, its wiring or a control problem. We connect the symptom to the tests that decide the repair.

Halogen uses a replaceable filament bulb. Xenon/HID uses a discharge bulb with a ballast and ignition system. LED lamps use electronic drivers and may have an integrated light source that is not separately replaceable.
Test the supply, earth path, fuses and connector condition as indicated. Heat damage, corrosion or water can interrupt a healthy lamp.
Check the correct bulb specification, xenon ballast or LED driver. Identify serviceable parts and, where fitted, check the LED cooling fan.
Use VW-specific diagnostics for relevant modules, live data and output tests. The body control module may monitor or command the affected circuit.
Inspect covers, seals, vents, mounting tabs, internal optics and signs of collision damage. A coding change cannot repair a cracked housing.
One side or several lights? Report all affected functions and any recent bulb change, battery work, water entry or collision. Those details help distinguish a local lamp fault from a shared supply or control issue.
Daytime running lights improve daytime visibility. Parking lights or sidelights mark the vehicle's position. A fault in either function needs the correct lamp and operating mode checked.
A connector that fits does not establish compatibility. Halogen, HID, LED, adaptive front-lighting (AFS) and IQ.LIGHT/matrix versions are not interchangeable by appearance alone. Any proposed retrofit needs its own compatibility and approval assessment.

A vertical-aim or range-control warning is not the same as a blown bulb. An apparently working headlamp may still point too high, too low or fail to adjust correctly.
Coding or adaptation configures supported electronics. Physical alignment and the beam-pattern check establish where the light falls. A new module or complete lamp may need both; a simple bulb change does not mean every car needs coding.
Send the warning text, model and year, plus any recent lamp, suspension or collision work. We quote the confirmed repair and required setup.
Cloudiness on the outside and moisture inside the lamp are separate problems. The condition of the lens, housing and optics determines what can be retained.
Surface restoration and a UV-protective finish may improve a suitable lens. It does not rebuild damaged internal reflectors or make a failed light source work.
Consider: restorationA light film can clear as conditions change. Persistent droplets, pooling or repeat electrical faults call for inspection of vents, covers, seals and connectors.
Consider: ingress diagnosisA cracked housing, damaged optics or insecure mounts may require replacement. Collision-related body alignment is assessed separately from the lamp itself.
Consider: matched replacementSimply drying a lamp can leave the source of water entry unresolved. Polishing does not repair a broken seal. If collision damage affects the surrounding panels or mounting points, our Volkswagen body shop assesses that related work.
Rear combination lights can contain several independent functions. A working tail light does not prove the brake light, indicator or reverse light is working.

We check holder contacts, corrosion, earth connections and relevant wiring, including tailgate wiring when the symptom points there. Inner tailgate and outer body-mounted units can be separate parts. The quote identifies the affected section.
A failed filament bulb, damaged socket or corroded contact may be repaired without replacing the complete lamp. Match the specified bulb and holder, then test the tail and brake functions separately.
A serviceable connection or electronic component may be repairable. An integrated LED failure can require a matched assembly. Confirm VIN, side, part number and equipment; coding is assessed where required.
A separate lens is not available or suitable for every lamp. Inspect seals, vents and mounting damage before choosing a repair or replacement. Drying alone does not resolve the entry path.
Rear-lamp bulbs and complete assemblies are quoted for the exact vehicle; the headlight prices above are not tail-light tariffs. Your quote separates parts, fitting, circuit repair, any required setup and VAT. If brake lights fail or rear visibility is compromised, arrange prompt assessment and safe transport where needed.
Genuine Volkswagen or a suitable named OEM part is quoted where available. We explain specification and condition before ordering; an apparently similar used lamp may have different electronics or hidden damage.
Record the model, VIN, side and failed function. Scan and inspect the relevant lamp or circuit.
Compare the suitable repair or replacement, required setup and written total before work starts.
Secure the part, connections and covers. Complete applicable coding, basic settings and alignment checks.
Verify operation, warnings, aiming where relevant and the repair result. We explain the work at handover.

Practical answers on costs, repairs, warnings and replacement setup.
An indicative halogen bulb replacement is AED 200–400 including installation. Wiring or electrical repairs can be AED 300–1,000, while a complete HID or LED unit can cost substantially more. The affected lamp, parts choice, access and required setup determine the written quote. The price section separates these jobs; diagnosis, additional work and VAT treatment are identified before approval.
Sometimes. A separately serviceable driver, module, connector or supply fault may be repairable while the lamp remains suitable. An integrated failed LED light source or damaged internal assembly may require a complete unit. We establish what is serviceable on your exact lamp before quoting either route.
Not always. A light film of temporary mist can occur as temperature and humidity change. Persistent droplets, pooled water, repeated fogging or electrical faults need inspection of the housing, seals, covers, vents and connectors. Drying the lamp without correcting the entry path can leave the fault unresolved.
Yes, we assess dipped-beam failure and headlight range or vertical-aim faults. A failed bulb, ballast, driver, supply circuit, level sensor, linkage or adjustment mechanism can require different work. On equipped vehicles, basic settings or calibration may be needed after the relevant repair; clearing the warning alone does not establish correct aim.
Yes. This service covers exterior lighting, including DRLs, sidelights or parking lights, tail lights, brake lights, indicators, reverse lights, fog lamps and number-plate lights. We distinguish a replaceable bulb or holder from a sealed LED assembly and check the relevant circuit before replacing parts.
A simple like-for-like bulb change does not usually need coding. Some headlamp modules or adaptive assemblies need vehicle-specific setup, coding or basic settings and a beam check. Timing depends on access, diagnosis and correct parts availability. Your written quote sets out the proposed work, completion plan and applicable parts and workmanship terms.
Send your Volkswagen details and the affected function. We will explain the next assessment and quote the suitable work before replacing parts.
