Programming only
From AED 200A starting labour budget for a supported adaptation. A new key, blade cutting and fault investigation are separate unless listed on the quote.
Need a spare or replacement key, or lost every key? Our independent VW workshop in Al Quoz 4 checks compatibility and start authorisation before recommending key supply and programming.
Programming-only guide from AED 200.
A compatible smart spare with programming is budgeted at AED 650 to 1,100. Market estimates for supported applications; key supply and all-keys-lost work differ.

A coding price and a complete replacement-key price cover different work. Use these Dubai market estimates to plan the right enquiry.
A starting labour budget for a supported adaptation. A new key, blade cutting and fault investigation are separate unless listed on the quote.
Compatible replacement key with programming on supported applications. An ordered genuine key or a newer restricted system may need a different budget.
This is the existing budget for supported Jetta applications, not a price for every VW. Other generations, genuine ordered keys, restricted systems and vehicle-side faults need an individual quotation after a feasibility check. Recovery and lock work are separate.
Your written total
The quote identifies the key source, quantity, adaptation, any blade cutting, testing, diagnostic charges and VAT. Recovery and lock repairs are separate. These guide figures are not fixed workshop offers.
Send the model, year and whether a key still starts the car for a vehicle-specific quote.
Remote locking and permission to start are different functions. A working button or a cut blade does not prove the key is authorised to drive.
A spare made by transponder cloning and a key independently adapted to the car are different solutions. Ask which method is proposed, which functions it supports and how future removal of a lost key would be handled.

Most owners contact us when one key has already failed. A spare programmed while a working key remains is usually simpler and quicker to arrange than starting from no working key, which needs an individual quotation.
With a working key present, a compatible spare can often be adapted on supported applications. With every key lost, the work needs a separate feasibility check, and some systems need a manufacturer or dealer supply route.
If your only key fails or goes missing, the car may need recovery and a more complex supply. A spare keeps you moving.
Where supported, a missing key can be removed from the car so it no longer starts the engine. A mechanical lock the old blade fits is a separate matter.
Start permission, locking, boot release and keyless entry where fitted are checked on each retained key before collection.
Generation, market, remote frequency and security system are matched, as similar looking keys are not always compatible.
If the remote buttons stopped working after a battery change, programming may not be needed. See our guide to VW key fob problems first.

Golf, Polo, Jetta, Passat, Tiguan, Touareg and commercial-vehicle keys vary by generation and market. The VIN and existing key details help identify the application. Golf owners can also view our Golf key replacement and programming.
Tell us before arranging a visit. Our Jetta key guide gives an indicative AED 500 to 1,300 budget for supported all-keys-lost applications. It cannot be applied to every VW. Key generation, supply route, access and any required security work determine the individual quote; some vehicles need a manufacturer or dealer route.
For a missing or stolen key, discuss removing its electronic start and remote permissions where supported. Electronic deletion does not change the mechanical locks; a missing blade may still fit them.
Have identification and vehicle registration or appropriate owner authorisation available. Bring every remaining key, including a remote that has stopped working.
State whether it is locked, accessible and able to start. Agree any entry or recovery arrangement and charges first. Workshop hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm.
“Key not detected” is a symptom. Repeated coding will not repair a failed reader, a damaged key or a low vehicle battery.
Check the fob battery, contacts, signal and transponder recognition against the spare. A remote can lock the doors while its start-authorisation function fails, or show the opposite behaviour.
Vehicle battery voltage, the reader or antenna, wiring and communication with the relevant immobiliser or access/start module matter. Fault codes and live data guide the next test rather than automatically condemning a key.
A start button, brake/clutch input, Park/Neutral recognition or another fault may prevent starting. If the key is accepted, VW no-start diagnosis is the more useful next step.
Access and start-authorisation faults
CAS (Car Access System) is BMW terminology. For a Volkswagen, we identify the fitted immobiliser and access/start system by model and generation before proposing module work.
Arrange the work with the vehicle present so that recognition and everyday functions can be checked. We agree the intended key set and the work before adaptation begins.
Send model, year and the immediate problem first. VIN, part-number photographs or previous repair details can follow when needed. No need to send ownership documents in an initial enquiry.
Establish the key type, security system, condition and supply route. Agree the total, expected timing and applicable warranty terms.
Use the procedure suitable for the vehicle, with stable electrical supply. Include cutting and remote matching when required by the agreed work.
Test start permission, lock/unlock and boot release where fitted, plus proximity entry/start on equipped cars. Check the mechanical blade and explain the active key set at handover.
Useful answers before buying a key or bringing the car to Al Quoz 4.
Allow a market starting budget of AED 200 for suitable programming-only work, with the key supplied separately. A compatible replacement smart key with programming is typically budgeted at AED 650 to 1,100 for supported spare-key applications. These are estimates; the vehicle, key source and included cutting, diagnosis and VAT determine the written total.
Only if its electronics, part number, radio specification and security status suit your vehicle. Send its details before buying or arranging programming. A previously adapted key can be locked to another car, and an identical-looking case does not establish that the transponder can be reused.
A battery change can leave the remote needing synchronisation. That does not automatically erase the immobiliser’s recognition of the original key. First check the correct battery, contacts and remote operation; a new-key adaptation is a separate job.
Contact us with the model, year, vehicle location and whether it is locked. We first establish the supported replacement method and ownership requirements. Some applications need a manufacturer-supplied key or specialist access. Entry, recovery and all-keys-lost work are priced separately from the spare-key estimate.
Bring every key you want to retain. Some adaptation procedures relearn the complete authorised set, so an absent key may stop starting the vehicle. Before work, agree which keys should remain active and whether a missing key needs to be removed from the relevant electronic memories.
The completion estimate follows identification of the vehicle and key. A supported spare-key job with the correct part available is different from ordering a genuine key, investigating a communication fault or recovering an all-keys-lost car. Your quote should state the expected timing and applicable warranty before approval.
Programming a key does not install missing antennas, door-handle sensors or other vehicle hardware. It enables compatible functions already supported by the car and key. Keyless Access, push-button start and remote start are different features; availability depends on the original specification and market.
Yes. An ID. model or e-Golf must be checked against its own access and drive-authorisation system. The collection check is whether the car recognises the key and enables READY where applicable, rather than whether a combustion engine cranks. Do not assume a Golf remote fits an ID. model.
Get the right key and programming work quoted for your Volkswagen. Call or send your vehicle details so we can check compatibility and explain the next step before you spend on parts.
No ownership documents needed for the initial enquiry. All-keys-lost availability and timing are confirmed after checking your vehicle.
