Weak range or a low-battery warning
Replace the battery
AED 50–150Correct-specification cell, fitting and a remote function check.
Buttons not responding, weak range or a cracked case? Our independent VW workshop in Al Quoz 4 checks your existing fob before a battery change, button repair or replacement. For a spare or lost key, see our replacement key programming options.
Repair guide AED 150 to 350.
Battery fitting AED 50 to 150. Compatible replacement smart keys with programming AED 650 to 1,100. Indicative Dubai budgets; the written quote sets your total.

Choose the budget for the work you need. Replacing the small battery inside the remote costs less than supplying and adapting a complete key.

Market guide estimates, not fixed workshop offers. Genuine ordered keys, complex electronic damage and all-keys-lost work are quoted separately. The written quote itemises parts, labour, any blade cutting, adaptation, testing and VAT before approval. Diagnosis and recovery are separate where needed.
A weak remote or broken button does not automatically mean buying a complete key. We assess the battery, housing and electronics separately, then quote the work that fits the fault.
Weak range or a low-battery warning
Correct-specification cell, fitting and a remote function check.
Worn buttons, a damaged switch or cracked case
Typical button or minor electronic repair after assessment. Suitable parts and usable electronics are required.
Missing fob or electronics that cannot sensibly be repaired
Compatible smart key with programming for supported applications with a working key.
Indicative Dubai budgets per key. The quote confirms parts, labour, VAT and any cutting or adaptation. These are alternative types of work, not charges to add together. See what each price includes.
Describe what fails and whether a spare works. A photo can help identify the case and buttons, but you can enquire without one.

Golf, Polo, Jetta, Passat, Tiguan and Touareg keys vary by generation and specification. The badge and the number of buttons alone are not enough to select a replacement. Golf owners can also view our Golf key types and replacement options.
Have a suitable key that needs adaptation? Tell us whether it has worked with this car before. A used online fob may not be reusable on your car, even when its case looks identical.
Tell us the symptom and whether the spare behaves differently. That comparison helps separate a fob fault from a vehicle fault.
Battery condition, contacts and remote signal are relevant checks. Reduced range alone does not prove that the complete key needs replacement.
A worn pad or damaged switch may be repairable. We inspect the local fault and check the other buttons before recommending a new remote.
Remote locking and start authorisation are different functions. If the car still will not start with another key, broader Volkswagen no-start diagnosis may be needed.
We consider the keys and the vehicle’s access system. Interference, a vehicle power issue or a recognition fault can resemble a failed fob.
Lost or stolen key? Tell us whether any working key remains. If theft is suspected, call promptly for a security assessment as well as replacement; a new key alone does not resolve every access risk.
Volkswagen-specific diagnostics support vehicle-side checks when the problem goes beyond the fob.
We check the battery, contacts, buttons and visible damage. Remote response and start recognition are assessed separately when relevant.
You receive the proposed repair or replacement and a written quote on WhatsApp. Nothing is replaced until you approve.
Relevant locking, unlocking, start and keyless functions are checked. Remaining keys are included where adaptation requires them.
Bring the vehicle, remaining keys, identification and proof of ownership for replacement-key work. Tell us about a recent battery change, a dropped fob or water exposure.
Bring the faulty key and any working spare so we can compare them and test the relevant functions at your Volkswagen.
A battery-only visit is simpler. If the car cannot be accessed or no key works, call first so the appropriate next step can be agreed.
Battery changes, replacement keys and what to bring for the work.
A remote may need synchronisation after its battery is changed. That is different from adapting a new key to the immobiliser. We check the battery and remote response before recommending programming.
Yes, where suitable parts are available and the original electronics remain serviceable. A new shell does not repair a damaged circuit board. We assess the buttons, housing and electronics separately so the proposed work matches the fault.
The key must match the vehicle’s generation, market specification, remote frequency and security system. Similar-looking fobs are not automatically interchangeable. Send your model and year first; the VIN or existing key details may be needed before the part is selected.
Tell us that no working key remains and whether you can access the vehicle. All-keys-lost work needs a separate feasibility check and quotation. It is not included in the spare-key guide price, and some systems require a manufacturer or dealer supply route.
A replacement restores your access, but the missing key also needs a security assessment. Where supported, its electronic authorisation can be removed from the vehicle. This does not change a mechanical door lock that the old blade may still fit. We establish the options for your model; a dealer or automotive locksmith may be needed.
Possibly. Corrosion and damage to the board determine whether repair is worthwhile. Keep the key dry and avoid further use until assessed. We explain whether cleaning, component repair or replacement is the practical option; recovery is not guaranteed.
Bring the vehicle and all remaining keys for replacement-key adaptation and final testing. Have identification and proof of ownership available. A battery-only visit is simpler, but testing the remote at the vehicle confirms that the original complaint has been resolved.
A battery or straightforward housing job is generally simpler than electronic repair or replacement-key adaptation. We give a completion estimate after identifying the fault and checking parts availability. Newer security systems, ordered genuine keys and all-keys-lost cases can take longer.
A button that only works sometimes or a remote with fading range can turn into a lockout. Tell us what your key does and we’ll explain the assessment and quote the suitable work.
No working key left? Call and tell us whether you can access the car. Availability and the next step are confirmed for your vehicle.
