Volkswagen Brake Pads Replacement in Dubai

Brake-pad warning, worn pads or a replacement already recommended? Our independent Al Quoz 4 workshop checks the wear, matches the front or rear pad set to your VW and gives you a written fitting quote before work.

Typical pad fitting: AED 350 to 800 per axle.
Standard pad set, fitting and routine checks. Discs and extra sensor hardware are separate unless listed.

Soft pedal, fluid loss or a red brake warning? Stop safely and call for assistance. These need more than a routine pad change.

Know what the price covers

Front and rear sets are quoted separately. One axle includes both wheels on that axle; a low labour-only price is not the same as a supplied-and-fitted pad set.

Pads alone or pads and discs?

We base the recommendation on measurements and condition. New pads do not automatically require new discs, and an old disc is not automatically suitable for another set.

Keep serviceable discs

Replace the pad set

Appropriate when the discs remain within specification and their surfaces suit new pads. Inspect both inner and outer pads, the disc faces and the caliper movement before choosing a pad-only job.

Renew worn or damaged discs

Replace discs and pads

Recommended where minimum thickness, cracks, serious scoring or heat damage rules out reuse. Disc replacement is paired across the axle with suitable new pads; the other axle is assessed independently.

Resolve the cause of abnormal wear

Repair a sticking brake first

A seized slider, piston problem or damaged boot can create uneven wear or dragging. Repair the cause before fitting pads, and renew contaminated friction material after a leak is resolved. Additional caliper or hydraulic work is quoted separately.

Vibration needs diagnosis. Disc thickness variation, runout, hub condition and other faults can contribute. Measurements establish whether the discs need attention. Skimming is considered only where permitted and the finished disc will meet specification.

Match the pads to the car

A model badge and registration year may leave several brake options. We identify the fitted brakes before ordering so the correct set arrives for the agreed axle.

VIN and PR codes
The VIN and applicable VW equipment codes help identify the brake package. We also check the fitted caliper and disc size where needed, especially after a previous conversion.
Genuine Volkswagen
A genuine set follows the applicable Volkswagen part selection. The quote identifies the set and required fitting hardware; the box label alone is not the complete fitting job.
Suitable OEM-supplier
An alternative from an appropriate brake manufacturer can be compared by exact application and friction specification. “OEM quality” or a familiar brand name alone does not prove equivalence.
Dust and comfort
Discuss a compatible low-dust or ceramic option where available. Noise, dust, cold response and intended use matter; a performance compound is not automatically the best road pad.

Golf, GTI and Golf R

Generation, engine and standard or performance brake package can change pad shape, disc size and sensors. We check the exact fitment before a front or rear quote. For other work and Mk5–Mk8 information, see our Volkswagen Golf repair guide.

Other VW models

Polo, Jetta, Passat, Tiguan, Touareg, Teramont/Atlas, Arteon and VW vans have different brake arrangements. Some use rear drums: those require shoes, not a disc-brake pad set. Electric ID. models and hybrids also need their actual brake equipment identified.

Rear pads and wear warnings

Electronic parking brakes and wear contacts need the correct procedure alongside the friction parts. They are not reasons to fit an unidentified pad or clear a warning without checking it.

Parking brake
On applicable EPB-equipped cars, use the specified diagnostic service mode for rear brake work. Retract the mechanism correctly, then complete the prescribed closing and basic-setting checks. Older mechanical arrangements need their own procedure.
Wear contacts
Identify whether a contact is integrated into the pad or supplied separately. Renew it as required by the applicable fitting instructions and inspect its connector and cable routing. Never bridge the circuit to hide wear.
Both sides
Wear monitoring may not cover every pad. A dashboard without a warning cannot replace an inspection of the inner and outer pads on both sides.

How we fit the pads

Our pad replacement follows the fitted braking system and parts instructions, with the findings explained before additional work.

  1. 01

    Measure and agree

Inspect pad material, disc thickness and surfaces, and check for abnormal wear. Agree the axle, parts and any additional repair before fitting.

  2. 02

    Fit and secure

Clean the pad supports, inspect sliders and boots, fit the specified hardware and keep friction surfaces free of grease. Follow the applicable caliper procedure and tightening requirements.

  3. 03

    Check before handover

Establish normal pedal feel, check fluid level, warning and parking-brake operation, and complete appropriate functional checks and a safe road test. Explain the selected pads’ bedding-in guidance.

After fitting and before the next set

Clear handover advice matters as much as choosing the parts. Tell us about a warning or unusual braking after collection so it can be reassessed promptly.

Bedding-in

Follow the vehicle and pad maker’s instructions so the new surfaces mate correctly. Avoid unnecessary repeated heavy stops during that period; always brake firmly when safety requires it.

Noise and uneven wear

Some noise can depend on the compound or conditions, but persistent squeal, grinding, pulling, excessive heat or a soft pedal needs investigation. Do not accept poor braking as normal bedding-in.

Fluid and service life

Pad fitting does not automatically include a fluid flush. Fluid replacement follows its own requirements. There is no single replacement mileage for every VW: measured wear, use and brake condition determine when pads are due.

Your questions

Practical answers before choosing front, rear or combined pad-and-disc work.

How much does Volkswagen brake pad replacement cost?

Allow AED 350 to 800 per axle for a typical standard pad set, fitting and routine checks. One axle means both front wheels or both rear wheels, not all four. Pads with a conventional disc pair have a guide range of AED 900 to 2,400 per axle. These are planning estimates; performance brakes, sensors and additional repairs can change the total.

Do I have to replace all four wheels at once?

No. Replace the complete pad set on the affected axle, with the other axle inspected separately. Front and rear pads can wear at different rates. If both axles are due, the quotation identifies both sets; replacing a single worn pad or only one wheel on an axle is not the appropriate routine replacement.

Can new pads be fitted to the existing discs?

Yes, if inspection and measurements show the discs are suitable. Remaining thickness, scoring, cracking, heat damage and any vibration complaint matter. Discs below the applicable minimum thickness need replacement. A new pad set is not a reliable cure for a damaged disc or a sticking caliper.

Will the brake-pad warning light go out?

The wear circuit and pads must be repaired correctly. Replace the applicable wear contact or integrated-sensor pad as required, check its wiring and connectors, and verify the warning afterwards. A broken wire can also cause a warning. We do not bypass the sensor, and a dashboard reset alone does not repair worn pads.

Are ceramic or low-dust pads better for my Golf or Tiguan?

They can be a useful option when a suitable application exists, but material labels alone do not establish braking performance or compatibility. We match the friction specification, dimensions, caliper and sensor arrangement to the car. Explain whether normal road use, wheel cleanliness or a particular performance requirement matters most; the suitable options can then be compared.

Is a brake-fluid flush included with new pads?

A pad replacement and a brake-fluid change are different jobs. Fluid is checked, and replacement is recommended when due or justified by its condition or a separate repair. The written quotation states any fluid change and charge. A free flush is not an automatic inclusion with pad replacement.

How long will fitting take, and what warranty applies?

Timing depends on the axle, parking-brake procedure, disc condition, access and available parts. Agree the fitting and collection estimate when the actual job is identified. The written quote records the selected parts, VAT treatment and applicable warranty. Extra caliper, disc or hydraulic work is discussed before proceeding.

How should I drive after new brake pads are fitted?

Follow the bedding-in instructions for the selected pads and vehicle. Bedding-in lets the new friction surfaces mate properly; it is not permission to accept weak braking. Avoid unnecessary repeated heavy braking during the specified period, while always braking as firmly as needed for safety. A soft pedal, grinding, pulling or a returning warning needs prompt reassessment.
