Key blade cutting
A blade cut to the correct lock profile. This price does not include a transponder, remote electronics or authorisation to start the car.
Lost your Golf key, need a spare, or does the remote no longer unlock the car? We cut and code replacement keys for the Golf, GTI and Golf R at our Al Quoz 4 workshop, checking the fitted key system and compatibility before quoting the work. A remote-button fault may need a battery or fob repair instead of a complete key.
One cut-and-coded remote key: guide AED 250–900; smart spare AED 700–1,500. Mechanical blade cutting alone starts from AED 150 and does not include start authorisation. Indicative Dubai guides for the stated scope. Key type and whether you still have a working key change the final price.

A replacement Golf key must match the vehicle and be authorised to start it; remote locking is a separate function. Existing spare-key guides are AED 250–900 for a cut-and-coded remote and AED 700–1,500 for a smart key. All-keys-lost and newer restricted systems need an individual quotation after a feasibility check.
Price the key you need, including the work that makes it usable. These indicative guides cover supported spare-key applications; all-keys-lost and restricted systems need an individual quote.
A blade cut to the correct lock profile. This price does not include a transponder, remote electronics or authorisation to start the car.
One supported transponder remote key with cutting and coding. Confirm the key source, remote checks and complete fitted scope before approval.
Compatibility and access-system support checked first. The quote confirms keyless testing and whether the emergency blade and cutting are included.
A new case may retain sound original electronics. All-keys-lost work needs a separate feasibility check, parts plan and quote.
Confirm the total before ordering. The written quote identifies quantity, key source, cutting, coding, remote/keyless checks, diagnosis and VAT treatment. Lock repair, recovery, ordered genuine keys and restricted-system work are separately scoped. Check compatibility before buying a fob online; a used key is not automatically reusable.
Generation, original market, equipment and the installed access/immobiliser system affect the key. These examples help identify the enquiry; shape alone does not establish electronic compatibility.

A folding blade with a transponder chip and remote buttons. The blade is cut and the chip coded to the immobiliser.

Flip key on most cars and keyless entry and start on higher trims. Coding needs immobiliser data from the car.

Remote or Keyless Access equipment varies by version. Newer systems may require additional authorisation and an ordered key. We confirm the supported service, compatible part and supply time before accepting the job.
What still works helps identify the next check. Remote locking, the mechanical blade and start authorisation are different functions.
Range drops, one button fails or locking becomes intermittent.
First checks: coin-cell condition, battery contacts, buttons, remote operation and applicable synchronisation. A complete key may not be needed.
A key warning or an engine that starts then stops can involve start authorisation; other faults can look similar.
First checks: a spare key where available, transponder recognition and vehicle-side fault data. Working remote buttons do not prove the key is authorised to start.
A damaged case or hinge can leave otherwise usable electronics inside.
First checks: blade, housing and electronics condition. Explain whether a shell repair is suitable before pricing a complete replacement.
Confirm the supported system and complete price first. A spare with a working key and an all-keys-lost job need different parts and authorisation checks.
For an enquiry, share the year and whether a working key remains. Before key work, vehicle registration and suitable photo ID are checked to verify ownership or authorisation.
Check vehicle data, original market, fitted access system and compatible key. Confirm the supported programming route, supply time and written scope before accepting the work.
Cut the agreed blade to the correct lock profile and check mechanical operation. For smart keys, confirm the emergency blade and cutting in the quotation.
Complete the permitted immobiliser adaptation and remote or access setup required by the fitted system. Restricted systems and all-keys-lost work proceed only after feasibility is confirmed.
Verify starting, locking, unlocking and keyless functions where fitted. Bring every key you want to keep so retention and any supported removal of a lost key from start authorisation can be discussed.
Lost-key security needs two checks. Removing a key from start authorisation, where supported, does not change the door lock. Its mechanical blade may still unlock the car; discuss physical lock security separately.
Heat exposure can shorten a key battery’s useful life, but summer timing alone does not establish the fault. Compare remote locking with starting, then test the key before ordering a replacement.
Check the battery first. Test the correct coin cell and its contacts. Keep the key out of direct sun and parked-car heat. A weak remote battery does not automatically mean lost immobiliser coding.
Check the locking function. Assess buttons, battery contacts, remote operation and applicable synchronisation. A shell or button repair may be suitable when the original electronics remain sound.
Describe the starting behaviour. A key warning, no crank and cranking without starting need different checks. If a working spare has the same problem, investigate the vehicle as well as the key.

Tell us whether the Golf still starts and whether a spare works. We can explain the next test.
Straight answers before you come in.
Basic key cutting starts from AED 150. Transponder and smart keys usually cost AED 250 to 1,500 including programming, depending on the key type and Golf generation.
Contact us with the year and whether any key remains. We first confirm compatibility, the permitted authorisation process and whether we can support that system. All-keys-lost work needs its own quote and may require an ordered key or a different service route.
A spare key for a common Golf is often done the same day once the key is in stock. All keys lost or newer smart keys can take longer depending on parts and authorisation.
Not always. A flat key battery or lost sync is common and costs far less to fix. We test the key before recommending a replacement.
Bring the vehicle registration card and your Emirates ID or passport. We only make keys for the registered owner or someone with their written authorisation.
Where the system permits, the lost key can be removed from start authorisation when the remaining and new keys are adapted. Bring every key you want to keep. This does not change the door lock: a lost mechanical blade may still unlock it, so discuss physical security separately.
Tell us the year and whether a key still starts the car. A photo is optional. We confirm the suitable service and quote; an enquiry does not reserve a key or appointment.
