Straightforward sensor replacement
AED300–600Sensor and labour for suitable straightforward work. Exact part, access and required work affect the total.
False beeps, no distance warning or a blank reversing image? Our independent Volkswagen workshop in Al Quoz 4, Dubai, checks parking sensors, PDC and camera faults, then gives you a written repair quote before work starts.

Start with the affected component. Your written quote identifies the parts, fitting and checks you approve.
Sensor and labour for suitable straightforward work. Exact part, access and required work affect the total.
Repair the confirmed connection, mounting or control-unit fault.
Quoted after assessmentIdentify the image-system fault and any required setup.
Vehicle-specific quotationThe missing function helps us choose the right checks.

A fault code guides the test. It does not prove that a new sensor or module is needed.
Note impact, rain, paintwork and the functions still working.
Compare relevant codes, sensor readings and activation states.
Check holders, bumper wiring, connections and visible damage.
Test supply, earth and communication where the finding points.
Keep serviceable parts. Replace only what the checks establish as faulty.
Address a confirmed loom or mounting defect when a suitable repair is possible.
Match position, part and seating. One failure does not automatically require a whole sensor set.
Establish the module fault first, then quote the compatible repair or replacement and required setup.
Neither system is more reliable in every situation. They do different jobs, and many Volkswagens have both. This is how they compare for everyday parking in Dubai.
Ultrasonic sensors in the bumper measure distance and warn with tones and distance bars.
A camera above the number plate shows the area behind the car on the infotainment screen.
Average drop in police reported backing crashes linked to rearview cameras in a 2016 IIHS study.
Parking sensors on their own showed effects that varied a lot between vehicle models in the same study.
Use sensors and the camera together where fitted, and still check mirrors and turn to look before reversing.
Source, IIHS, rearview cameras reduce police reported backing crashes. Sensors and cameras cannot detect every obstacle, so the driver remains responsible.
Sensors help judge distance to pillars and walls close up.
A camera helps you see low objects and people behind the car.
Clean the sensors and lens, because dirt affects both systems.
Fitted equipment depends on model, year and trim. The VIN confirms what your car has.

A black screen does not prove the camera is faulty. We check the image system before quoting parts.
Check activation, supply, video path and display connections as fitted.
Inspect lens, moisture, mounting and the affected camera view.
Investigate connections and tailgate wiring; mention any recent retrofit or radio work.
Parking views and assistance-camera warnings call for different procedures.

VIN, production version, sensor position and fitted equipment establish compatibility.
A VW-branded sensor, camera or module matched to the application.
A named supplier part checked for specification and compatibility, where available.
Similar looks or connectors do not prove compatibility.
Use the correct holder and decoupling ring where fitted.
Follow the component's coating instructions.
Code, adjust or calibrate only as the vehicle procedure requires.
Understand the finding, approve the work, then review the repaired functions.
Explain the checks, identified fault, proposed parts and charges.
Your decision: approve the workComplete the agreed wiring, mounting, sensor, camera or module work.
Agreed repair and partsCheck relevant warnings, displays, image functions and required setup.
Result and paperwork
Volkswagen-specific diagnostics and a written quote before approved work begins.
Separate the sensor, wiring and camera fault before buying parts.
The proposed part and labour appear in your quotation.
Retain the invoice, applicable cover and follow-up advice.
Practical answers before approving the repair.
Use AED 300–600 as an indicative guide for a straightforward sensor replacement with sensor and labour. The exact part, location, access and required work can put a job outside this range. Bumper removal, paint, damaged holders, wiring repairs and electronic setup are itemised where needed. Your written quote states the final total and VAT treatment before approval.
PDC means Park Distance Control. It uses ultrasonic sensors and related electronics to provide parking-distance warnings. A PDC fault can involve the sensor, its mount, wiring, power supply, warning sound or control unit. The camera image is a related parking aid but a different function. We identify what has failed before quoting parts.
Yes, when checks establish one faulty sensor and the remaining system is serviceable. We match its position and part specification, inspect the holder and connection, and check operation after replacement. One failed sensor can disable more of the system, so several missing warnings do not automatically justify replacing every sensor.
An obstruction, unsuitable mounting, bumper damage, coating work or an electrical fault can cause false alerts. Tell us whether it affects one area, occurs in wet conditions or began after a repair. Safe cleaning may remove surface contamination; persistent beeping needs inspection. A constant tone can also be a normal warning near an obstacle, so the surroundings and display matter.
The image, distance display and audible warning are different outputs. Depending on equipment, the checks may include settings, the warning sounder and PDC electronics rather than the camera. Equally, working beeps do not establish that a blank camera is healthy. Send a photo of the display and explain which functions still work.
We assess the lens and mounting, activation, power and connections, video path and display before recommending repair or replacement. A camera that fails when the tailgate moves needs different checks from a clear image with incorrect guidelines. A failed display does not prove the camera itself is faulty. The quote identifies the affected component and any setup needed.
No. An ordinary ultrasonic sensor replacement does not justify a universal coding or calibration charge. The exact vehicle, replacement component and disturbed equipment determine the procedure. A control unit or some camera systems may need coding, basic settings or calibration. These are different operations and are included in the quote when the applicable repair procedure requires them.
Yes. A displaced holder, damaged loom, incorrect seating or unsuitable coating can affect operation. Sensor refinishing must follow the applicable component and vehicle instructions; paint colour alone is not enough. Let us know about recent bumper work. We assess the physical fit and electrical system before treating the fault as an internal sensor failure.
Area View combines multiple parking cameras; we identify a missing view, distorted image or alignment concern for the fitted system. A windscreen-mounted assistance camera used for functions such as Lane Assist or traffic-sign recognition is different from a front parking camera. Send the exact warning so the assessment and any required calibration arrangements concern the correct system.
Timing depends on the fault, access, part availability and any vehicle-specific setup. A wiring repair or one sensor is different from a camera or module replacement. Send model and year, the affected area, a warning photo and when the problem began. Our Al Quoz 4 workshop is open Monday–Saturday, 9 am–7 pm; the quotation sets the visit plan and applicable parts/workmanship terms.
Send your model, year and a photo of the warning or affected view. We will explain the next checks and quote the work for your approval.
