Coolant level dropping
Continued coolant loss needs checking, even without a puddle or frequent top-ups.
Scirocco losing coolant, leaving a leak or running hot? We trace the fault and identify the fitted engine before quoting a pump or module. The listed fitted repair estimates are AED 1,200–3,200. With overheating, steam or a red coolant warning, stop safely, switch off and keep the hot reservoir cap closed.
Scirocco water pump replacement from AED 1,200. Indicative Dubai guide. The 1.4 TSI pump module and Scirocco R timing belt jobs sit higher.

Volkswagen Repair Dubai in Al Quoz 4 checks the engine and leak source before pump replacement. The listed 2.0 TSI guide is AED 1,200–2,000; the 1.4 TSI twincharger module is AED 1,800–3,200, and the R pump with timing-belt kit is AED 1,800–2,800. Other engines need their own parts quotation.
Plan around AED 1,200 to 3,200 depending on the engine, including VW coolant and bleeding.
Indicative fitted guides for the stated applications, not fixed tariffs. The written quote names parts, labor, required coolant, diagnosis, VAT and any extra repairs. Ask for the applicable written warranty terms. Turbo-only 1.4 TSI and imported diesel applications need a matched quotation.
Condition and test findings decide whether a pump needs replacement. Age alone does not make it due.
Continued coolant loss needs checking, even without a puddle or frequent top-ups.
Pink or white dried coolant near the pump or on the belt side of the engine.
A noise from the supercharger clutch area at the front of the engine.
A coolant warning needs prompt attention. Follow the message and stop safely for a red warning or rising temperature.
Or any red coolant warning, steam or rapid coolant loss.
On a Scirocco R, a leaking pump can soak and weaken the belt.
A failing pump bearing that rises with engine speed.
On the twincharger, pump-module or boost-control faults can bring a warning and power loss; tests identify the cause.
If you are not sure the pump is the leak point, our Volkswagen coolant leak guide explains how we trace leaks first.
Different engines use different pump drives and assemblies. That changes the parts, access and related work included in your quote.
The twincharger uses a coolant-pump module with an integrated magnetic supercharger clutch. Turbo-only 1.4 TSI versions use a different arrangement.
We confirm the fitted module and test leaks or clutch operation. Noise or low boost alone does not prove a pump-module fault.
Many EA888 versions use a separate pump driven by a small belt from the balance shaft, with the thermostat housing nearby.
We locate the leak and inspect the housing, pipes and pump-drive parts. Nearby parts are replaced only when the findings justify it.
The EA113 water pump is driven by the timing belt. Belt history, contamination and the required access all affect the agreed work.
The R package listed on this page includes a full timing-belt kit with the pump. The quote names the kit, pump, coolant and labor.
Tell us the year and what you notice. We’ll help identify the right next check.
Find your engine to see how the pump is driven and what is worth doing with it.
Other 1.4 TSI versions, including turbo-only applications, need their own pump identification. The twincharger-module estimate does not automatically apply. Engine code and fitted components determine parts; gearbox type alone does not identify the pump or guarantee identical labor.

We confirm timing after checking the engine, parts availability and repair findings.
Check the vehicle information and fitted assembly so the correct pump or module is selected.
Read relevant data and pressure-test where appropriate. Locate leakage and investigate circulation or temperature-dependent faults as needed.
Fit the pump or module with new seals, plus the specified drive parts or timing-belt kit included in the quote.
Use coolant meeting the specified VW approval and mixture. Follow the engine’s bleeding procedure and recheck the cold level.
Run to temperature and check leakage, circulation and fans. On a twincharger, check relevant supercharger-clutch operation where indicated.
Review the parts and written price before repair work starts.
See how the pump assembly, drive parts and coolant checks fit into the repair.

The integrated supercharger-clutch arrangement applies to the twincharger. The fitted engine and part design are checked before ordering.

The pump shares the timing-belt drive. The agreed package states which belt, tensioner, fasteners and pump parts are included.

The specified coolant and bleeding procedure help restore circulation. We check temperature behavior, leakage and the cold coolant level.
Age and heat are the main enemies of an older sports coupe.
Inspect seals, bearings and housings for actual deterioration; replacement is not based on age alone.
Coolant that has never been changed loses protection and wears the pump seal.
Cooling faults and repeated high thermal loads can stress components; inspect the actual housing and seal condition.
A worn or over tight belt loads the pump bearing on the 1.4 TSI and R.
Track days and spirited driving push coolant temperatures higher for longer.
Compare the complete fitted job, including the pump, drive parts and coolant, rather than the pump price alone.
A twincharger module, an EA888 pump and an R timing-belt package involve different parts and labor.
The listed R package includes the full belt kit with the pump. Belt condition, history and contamination help determine the agreed work.
Genuine VW and named OEM supplier options are priced where available. Ordering time is confirmed with the parts supply.
A leaking thermostat housing, damaged pipe or hose is quoted separately when found. We explain why any extra part is needed.
The written quote states the specified coolant, bleeding, labor, diagnostic charge, VAT and any additional repairs.
Use the right coolant, maintain the drive system and respond early to coolant loss.
A check can help locate the cause before you pay for the wrong part.
Call about coolant lossCheck the reservoir level with the engine cold. Repeated loss needs a leak assessment; keep the cap closed while the system is hot.
Follow the required coolant approval and mixing instructions. Color or brand alone does not establish compatibility.
On the R, follow the timing-belt maintenance requirements and have pump condition assessed with the belt work. Confirm the correct schedule for the fitted engine.
Follow the vehicle’s operating advice. Overheating, steam or a red warning needs a safe stop and the engine switched off, rather than continued idling.
Describe what you notice and we can help arrange a cooling-system check. Keep the hot reservoir cap closed.
A leak at the pump, deposits, bearing noise or poor circulation may indicate a pump fault. Coolant loss and rising temperature can also involve hoses, the thermostat, radiator or other components. We locate and assess the cause before quoting.
On the 1.4 TSI twincharger, the magnetic supercharger clutch is integrated into the coolant-pump module. Turbo-only 1.4 TSI engines do not use this same clutch arrangement. The quote identifies the actual engine and supplied assembly.
The EA113 R pump is timing-belt driven. The listed R package includes the belt kit and pump. We assess service history, belt condition and contamination and list the agreed parts before work; the pump job does not apply unchanged to every other Scirocco.
Do not assume topping up makes a leaking car safe to drive. Stop safely, switch off and seek assistance for overheating, steam, rapid loss or a red coolant warning. Never open the hot reservoir. A confirmed cold leak still needs assessment before further travel.
Plan around AED 1,200 to 3,200 depending on the engine, fitted with coolant.
Usually one day, or a little longer if parts need ordering.
Identify the actual engine. Earlier EA111 petrol and EA888 2.0 TSI applications use chain timing; the EA113 R uses a timing belt. Later 1.4 TSI and diesel variants need their own timing-drive check. The pump drive is not necessarily the camshaft timing drive.
On a twincharger, a confirmed supercharger-clutch fault can affect low-speed boost. Power loss also has other possible causes, so boost-control and fault-data checks are needed. Turbo-only 1.4 TSI engines have no supercharger clutch to diagnose.
The engine and pump layout are the main fitment factors. We quote for the actual car, access and related parts rather than promising identical labor from the manual or DSG label.
Use coolant meeting the VW approval and mixing requirements specified for the actual engine and circuit. Color does not prove compatibility. We check the required specification and concentration rather than choosing by pink or purple appearance.
Yes. We service and repair every Scirocco from 2008 to 2017 at our Al Quoz 4 workshop.
Tell us about the loss, warning or noise; the year is helpful if known. We explain the next checks and guide price. With overheating, active loss or a red warning, stop safely and call about recovery.
