Start from what you notice, then read what we do and what it usually costs. Every job begins with a VW scan or a physical test, and nothing is replaced until you approve the written quote.
We clean the area and trace the leak with UV dye to rule out the sump, valve cover or oil filter housing. The PCV system is checked first, because high crankcase pressure is a common reason new seals fail. The gearbox comes off, a new OEM seal goes in and the crankshaft surface and clutch are inspected while it is apart.
Many Tiguans use a dual mass flywheel. We check its free play and rattle with the gearbox off, then fit a new flywheel and, where the clutch or release bearing is worn, a full clutch kit so the job is not done twice.
A torn boot lets the grease out and sand in, and in UAE heat the joint then wears quickly. We put the car on a lift, inspect both boots and check each joint for play. Caught early, a new boot and fresh grease saves the joint. If it already clicks, we fit a new outer joint or a complete driveshaft and road test on full lock. On 4MOTION cars the rear shafts are checked too.
Most engines can be repaired, so we prove the failure first with a compression and leak down test, a borescope look inside the cylinders and, where needed, an oil analysis. If replacement is the right call, we price a rebuilt, a low mileage used and a new engine side by side, match the engine code, and code the replacement to your Tiguan with VW software.
We listen at cold start and read the camshaft to crankshaft deviation values with VW software before any part is ordered. Early 2.0 TSI engines, mostly Mk1 Tiguans up to about 2013, used a tensioner that can let the chain jump a tooth, so a cold start rattle should not wait. The job uses the updated tensioner, new guides, chain and bolts, with the timing set using VW locking tools.
Depending on year and engine, your Tiguan has a DSG or a conventional automatic, and many faults are fixed with fresh fluid, adaptations, or a clutch or mechatronic repair instead of a new gearbox. We read the gearbox data, check fluid condition and run the adaptations first. If the gearbox has failed, we quote a reconditioned unit with warranty and code it to the car.
Fully synthetic oil to the VW approval your engine needs, such as 502 00 or 504 00, a new filter, a fluid and tyre check, service reset and a quick scan for stored faults.
A full brake check covers pad and disc thickness, caliper slides, hoses and fluid condition, plus an ABS scan. We replace only what is worn and road test before handover.
We measure disc thickness and run out against the VW limit. Discs are replaced in pairs on the same axle, always with new pads, then bedded in on a road test.
Bushes and the ball joint are checked under load on the lift. A worn arm is replaced with an OEM or quality aftermarket part, bolts are torqued at ride height and the wheels are aligned.
Tyre noise and a worn bearing sound alike, so we road test first, then spin and load each wheel on the lift to confirm which side has failed. The Tiguan rear bearing is a hub unit with the ABS sensor ring built in, so we fit a complete OEM hub, torque it to VW spec and clear the ABS codes. On 4MOTION cars the rear driveshaft is checked at the same time.
We test charging voltage and current under load to separate an alternator fault from a weak battery or a slipping belt. A new OEM or quality alternator is fitted and the charging system is retested.
A weak battery causes most no start complaints, so we test the battery, earth straps and the starter supply under load before blaming the starter. If it has failed, we fit the correct unit, including the heavy duty type that start stop Tiguans need, then confirm start stop works again before handover.
We check tensioner movement, pulley bearings and belt wear. The tensioner is replaced and, if the belt is cracked or glazed, a new serpentine belt is fitted at the same time.
Power, earths, connectors and software are checked first, as some faults clear with an update or reset. If the unit has failed we fit the correct replacement and code it to the car.
On halogen headlights the parking light is a small bulb in the headlight, so it is a quick job. On LED headlights it is built into the unit, so we test the LED module and wiring before quoting a repair or a new unit. The rear fog light is checked the same way, whether it sits in the tail light or the bumper. Fuses, sockets and the lighting control module are checked first, so a new bulb does not fail again a week later.
Heat breaks down the foam behind the fabric, so regluing rarely lasts. We remove the board, strip the old foam and fabric, and refit with new material and heat resistant adhesive, with extra care on cars with a panoramic roof.
Often only the glass, the cover or the folding motor has failed, so we replace that part instead of the whole mirror. After fitting we test heating, folding, the indicator, blind spot warning and the side camera on Area View cars. Covers are supplied painted to your VW colour code.
Small damage can often be repaired and resprayed, which costs less than a new bumper. If it is cracked through or the mounts are broken, we fit a new bumper painted to your VW colour code, refit and test the parking sensors, and check Park Assist and tow bar wiring where fitted.
Small chips can often be repaired before they spread in the summer heat. For a replacement we match the glass to your options, such as the rain sensor, heated screen or the camera bracket for lane assist, then calibrate the front camera after fitting so the driver assist systems work as they should.

An oil and filter change is typically AED 250 to 600 depending on the oil grade and engine. A fuller service with filters and checks costs more, and the written quote lists every part, labour and VAT before we start.
The 2.0 TSI in both generations uses a timing chain. Some 1.4 TSI engines use a chain and later EA211 engines use a belt. Send us the VIN or a photo of the registration card and we confirm the engine before quoting.
A drip where the engine meets the gearbox is often the rear main seal, but the sump, oil filter housing and valve cover can leak to the same spot. A UV dye test finds the source, and a rear main seal is typically AED 1,200 to 2,800.
That is the classic sign of a worn dual mass flywheel. We confirm it with the gearbox off and replace the flywheel, and the clutch too if it is worn. Labour is typically AED 800 to 1,500 plus parts.
Brake pads are typically AED 400 to 800 per axle with genuine parts, or from AED 250 aftermarket. Front discs with fitting are about AED 900 to 1,400, and a full front and rear set with pads about AED 1,800 to 2,600.
Usually a worn serpentine belt or a weak belt tensioner. Replacing the tensioner and belt together is typically AED 800 to 1,200 and prevents the belt slipping off and stopping the alternator and AC.
